Kindness should always be practiced as it is an essential part of being a Christian. Kindness stands out among these traits for its importance in showing mercy and compassion toward others. These include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness gentleness and self-control which are all traits that come from being filled with the Holy Spirit. This scripture describes nine qualities that we should strive to embody as believers. We are called upon by God Himself not only to accept His kindness but to also share it in our own lives through our actions every day!Ģ2 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control against such things there is no law. It can transform relationships between people. Ultimately kindness isn’t meant only for certain people or situations it’s meant for everyone – friend or foe – alike. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us.” The kindness that Jesus shows us through His death on the cross for our sins offers hope for all mankind he wants us all to experience his kindness too. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Then your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.”Įven when we are at odds with someone we care about like family or friends – the Bible still calls for kindness in dealing with them: Colossians 3:12-14 reads “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. In Luke 6:35-36, Jesus challenges us to show kindness even to those who reject us or hurt us in some way: “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Ephesians 4:32 says, “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.” This is a message that comes through loud and clear in the Bible. As Christians, we are called to be kind and gentle toward others, even those who may be different from us or whom we don’t agree with.
